We are recruiting an Associate – Operations
The E-liability Institute seeks a dynamic individual to join our high-impact team as an Associate – Operations. In this critical role, you will report to the Chief of Staff, playing a key part in executing the Institute’s mission to align market forces with decarbonization goals through robust carbon accounting. This position offers the opportunity to influence global sustainability efforts and drive meaningful change in how businesses decarbonize.
Location: Fully remote (preference for US East Coast/European time zones)
Hours: Part-time (20-30 hours per week)
Hourly rate: USD $25-45 per hour, depending on experience and skills
Key Responsibilities
– Support the Principal Investigator and the Chief of Staff to develop and execute all aspects of the Institute’s strategy and operations.
– Lead or co-lead specific projects aimed at promoting and implementing the E-ledger carbon accounting framework (including carbon removals), managing timelines, resources, and deliverables, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
– Assist in managing pilot projects with companies, non-profits, and governmental organizations, helping them build real-time management-information systems to track carbon content and providing insights that could reduce emissions.
– Support the development of proto-standards for carbon accounting.
– Develop and implement communication strategies, draft written materials, and collaborate with the Chief of Staff to enhance the visibility and impact of the E-ledger framework.
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including businesses, consultancies, accounting firms, and standard-setters to drive adoption and scale of the E-ledger principles.
– Support the optimization of the Institute’s operational processes, assisting in budgeting, resource allocation, and administrative tasks, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
– Self-motivated, ability to think creatively and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting.
– Excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
– Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling content.
– Knowledge or experience in financial accounting and/or environmental chemistry (preferred but not essential).
– Operational experience in supply chain management or public policy, working with diverse stakeholders (preferred but not essential).
– Undergraduate degree with relevant experience required (postgraduate degree preferred).
